Dan Scott's workaround work for me as well. Click 'Other' and then type
username and password.

[i915gm] GPU
Same problem (Also on EEE PC 900) here. Not sure if it is a proper
workaround, but I waited on the login screen, then chose 'Other' and
typed my username and it didn't freeze.

Today I could log in after the 5th reboot. What I noticed was that the
bar in the lower part of the screen does not load the times I can't
login.

I installed Natty when the Beta1 was released. The login freeze occured
from the start, though it does not happen on every boot. I did not have
any issues in Maverick.
