After five days with no issue it occurs again out of nothing. Since I've
read over some bug reports I wonder if it has something to do with
gfxpayload.

Im having the same problem. I have an ATI Radeon™ HD 2400 Pro AGP card
[RV610].
Sometimes occur when the graphics are loading, as in this case.
And sometimes occurs in Unity desktop (like bug #774909).

Thanks for the photos. Yeah looks like the compiz process triggered a
page fault in the radeon drm module which caused a kernel OOPS.
IMG_0686 has the clearest call trace. I'll add that to the bug
description.
IMG_0689 shows the top of the oops report pretty clearly.

rww, do a system update; your mesa is a bit old, so try reproducing the
bug with mesa 7.10.2-0ubuntu2.

Binary package hint: xorg
I booted a LiveUSB of the current natty daily ISO. It got to the screen
where it asks whether I want to Try or Install Ubuntu. I selected Try.
It switched back to the console, then loaded xorg with a cursor in the
center of the screen
Hi rww, a few questions:
1. Is this a regression? You mentioned you saw it with the current
natty daily ISO. Have you been testing dailies previously without
encountering this problem? If so, what was the most recent day's ISO
prior to this one that did not show this problem?
2. Is this
Hi Bryce,
1. I took a break from testing for a few months, so I'm not sure whether
it's a regression. It didn't happen in maverick. The daily I used to
report this bug is the first one I'd used since Unity was released into
natty.
23. I re-booted the LiveUSB ten times using the April 20th daily
