Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
In natty beta 2, when using my AMD/ATI Radeon HD 4670 with the open source driver, I only get choices of resolutions up to 1024x768, not the desired 1280x1024, which my monitor runs. This is from a clean installation, using the VGA plug (my monitor is an old LCD, VGA only) Expected behavior: Running at monitors max supported resolution (1280x1024) What happened: Ubuntu runs with 1024x768 (and a bit of random flickering, but this is probably another bug) It could also be a problem with the monitor not reporting correctly through the legacy plug (VGA). In both Windows and when using the fglrx driver, I can access resolutions up to 1600x1200, even though my monitor does not support these.
