If you can repro the gfx issue, post a separate bug report on that using
'ubuntu-bug xorg' and include a screenshot or photo of the screen
displaying the corruption.

I have occasional corruption of graphics output in circumstances I
cannot yet reproduce.
What I can reproduce however is a persistent kernel panic when trying to
log into a kubuntu/plasma desktop session.

Note that the Matrox G450 card is not used. Its ports are unconnected,
and the kernel boots with video=intelfb, and the monitor is connected to
the onboard i915G driver.
