I'm can't be 100% certain but I do recall clearly that this problem
didn't exist until the update.
For one, scrolling through the list of download files in amule didn't
produce any lag in the past. I have attached a screenshot of what
appears on my screen when I do that.

are you sure it's not just the heavy I/O-operations that bog the system
down? There's nothing in the logs to explain it.
