Reece H. Dunn, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/cu
Disabling FastTaps in xorg.conf solved the problem for me.

BTW: Double-clicking on a maximized window's title bar (i.e. the global
menu bar) works and the window correctly toggles to its "unmaximized"
state.

This worked for me prior to upgrading to 12.04. After the upgrade to
Precise it stopped working.
