Public bug reported: If I run Xephyr with the --fullscreen option then the remote desktop is put on :0 and the local desktop is moved from :0 to :1.
Normally I use only one local display at :0 that I can switch to by Ctrl-Alt-F7. After executing $ Xephyr :1 -fullscreen -query remote_machine the remote display appears on the current display (:0) and I can switch back to the local display by Ctrl-Alt-F8. Then there is the GDM login screen that shows that I am logged in but after typing the password I will be redirected to :0 where there is the GDM login screen of the remote desktop. So I cannot log in to the local desktop (moved to :1). To get it back I have to switch to a character terminal and to kill Xephyr. Then the local display goes back to :0 as usual. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/847928 Title: Xephyr in fullscreen mode uses :0 always To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/847928/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
