been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from

I solved it in Oneiric by marking acpi=off in the startup menu (F6), but
then I can't connect to wifi.

Same problem on Xubuntu 11.10. Live-CD didn't show any graphics, so I
installed with the alternate CD, hoping for additional drivers.
Installation and boot went well. Since it's a dual boot, Grub show up.

I ran the Oneiric LiveCD on an HP 6735 AMD Sempron laptop on which
Maverick was working well, and I got a dim screen. Impossible to turn
screen brighter.
These video problems don't seem to be a distribution-specific bug but a
regression in the Linux kernel since they affect more than one
distribut
Same problem with Fedora 15 on same machine.
