This seems to be in multiple bug reports, I did not realize this one was
still open. I have not seen the issue in a while, I have now been able
to pan on the original ACER nettop I had the issue with as well as other
dissimilar configurations. For me I am considering this fixed.

Jonathan Greenblatt, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from

Bug 881046 is about the same xrandr panning and scaling issue in general
- it's not just an Intel server problem.

I am thinking I might have to fix this myself if I want it fixed. A bit
of thought is needed to avoid making the bug where things are lost in
multi-monitor displays not come back when fixing this. I do not have
time to fix this currently but I have found a workaround for small
monitors. I have been
Confirmed also on Acer Aspire A0522 using an ATI Radeon driver, under
Gnome-Shell 3.2.1.

randr panning not workin
Unfortunately I do not have time to triage this myself, normally I like
to post solutions with bug reports. In any case I would like to see some
priority given to this, certain system menus in Linux have poor UI
design and are unusable without panning on netbooks.
