I had this problem too almost cost me alot of server loss
so if it happens u can save yourself by doing this
pres and hold CTRL+ALT+F6
then login
then type the following commands:
sudo -s
ps -U [your

Hi there I also have this problem from a clean install using the
proprietary ATI drivers on a dell studio 17 laptop with a Radeon
Mobility 5650. The cursor gets stuck in the drag position when I try and
drag and drop a file out of an archive and into the stock file manager.
