Public bug reported:

X crashes upon opening an xterm after a variable amount of time.  I've been 
able to recreate this bug under Natty
(xserver-xorg-core: 2:1.10.1-1ubuntu1.2) and Oneiric (2:1.10.4-1ubuntu4.2) but 
was only able to generate a full backtrace and collect a core file under Natty; 
this problem is hard to reproduce.

It appears the problem introduced in: 500_xi2.1.patch
