Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.10 was working fine on my lenovo Y560 laptop, but an upgrade to 12.04 has left it close to inoperable. Symptoms include:
o The mouse cursor remains frozen at center of screen -- neither the touchpad nor any USB mouse I plug in has any effect on it o The eth0 device does not seem to exist, even after uninstalling network manager, manually editing /etc/network/interfaces and rebooting o My USB memory stick no longer mounts I have a sneaky feeling that all these symptoms are due to a failure in a USB interface driver. I am not sure that this is an xorg bug, but I've been advised to file it as such. The reason I can't use ubuntu-bug to report this bug arises from the symptoms. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993374 Title: upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 leaves lenovo Y560 with no mouse, USB, or internet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/993374/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
