I have just upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04 and have the same result. When I
select to boot in normal mode, the login screen (that has wrong - low -
resolution ) freezes with mouse pointer in the center and keyboard not working.
When I shut off the computer with the power button and try to boot in

basically there's no network at all. With 11.10 both wireless and
ethernet worked, now neither or them do.
