When I disconnect the AC power from my HP Mini netbook the screen dims.
I find this annoying so I have changed settings in System Preferences
Power Management but no matter what I do the screen will always dim

GL screensavers crash the X server in _mesa_update_state_locked
Everything works as expected without patch 101.
As a matter of fact, in the process of trying to get a more complete
backtrace with gdb, I happened to try bt full--and noticing references
to my MP3 player, I tried starting X without it plugged in, and sure
enough, it started fine! (And, attaching
