its the driver. I'm also using compiz. Not sure why LyX is so slow

I have upgraded my system to Xubuntu 13.10 and scribus to version 1.4.3,
build ID C_C_T_F_C1.12.16. The problem appears resolved.

This is now fixed, at list by the last upload where I updated the
Standard-Version to 3.9.5. With this revision packages could relay on a dpkg
trigger which integrates the changes to /usr/share/mime/packages.

on Ubuntu nor Debian.
Furthermore I'm unable to reproduce this with all my files, and they are full
