The police in Kabale have burst a racket of armed thugs who have been terrorising the southwestern region, the Kabale Police commander has said.
Martin Amoru said a special operation carried out by district security operatives and LDUs arrested six suspects and recovered two guns and 15 bullets.
In a press briefing at the police Station, Amoru and the OC/CID, Stephen Barutagira, said the suspects were charged with robbery.
The suspects are Dennis Mushabe, Edison Asiimwe, both of Maziba and Richard Muhanjisa of Bukinda in Kabale.
Others are Stephen Tindamwesire of Rubare, Boaz Mwebembezi of Rukoni and Allan Ampeire of Omugyenyi all from Ntungamo district.

The operations started on Sunday with the arrest of three suspects from Maziba in Ndorwa county in Kabale, Amoru said.
Sources said some suspects were arrested as they were about to cross to Rwanda.
