Frank Mutagubya in Daily Monitor of August 23, rightly exposes blunders of misusing names reserved only for twins in Buganda. There is another misnomer being perpetuated by a respectable family.

Wasswa must be a male twin. All the daughters in that family were named after their twin father Wasswa! For a woman to be called "Alice Wasswa" is a disgrace.
In the same vein, Salongo and Nalongo are parents of twins. The worst of all irritations is if Salongo were to divorce Nalongo and married another woman. I dread the day that woman could be called "Mrs Jessica Salongo."

As a monarchist, I am also bothered by another blunder. In Buganda, Abazaana (plural) and Omuzaana (singular) are wives of Bakabaka (Kabakas). It is unacceptable to call Princes' wives Abazaana. Like husbands of Princesses, they are "Titleles s".

Some education is essential to rectify this before it becomes "customary" to refer to women as Abazaana other than those of Bakabaka.
