The Uganda People's Congress (UPC) has received overwhelming support during their ongoing national exercise to collect voters' signatures to register the party.
"We need 50 signatures from each district, but we have got more than 100 signatures," Dr James Rwanyarare said.
Rwanyarare is the chairman of the UPC's executive committee, the Presidential Policy Commission.
He was yesterday addressing the press at the party's headquarters at Uganda House.
"The reception UPC emissaries received countrywide as they solicited signatures for registration was unbelievable," he said.
He said in Masaka district, they collected at least 480 signatures while in Rakai they raised 409.

He said they had already covered West Nile, Karamoja and most parts of Buganda except Kalangala Islands where they would visit soon.
Rwanyarare said UPC and other political parties would educate the people about their rights and galvanise them into a formidable force to challenge the Movement government.
