There is an update to firefox. Basically, just change the 4 to a 5 in the
script.
(I have to admit I didn't test the links for every single language.)

I suspect the problem you have is that CIFS uses strict name checking by
default - that means unless \\servername is the actual
name of your sever, it returns an error.
