Ten new trees were planted in Clark Park as a result of a grant from Pennsylvania's Urban Forestry program. While the government came up with the funds, Friends of Clark Park provided the planning and the volunteer labor. It may be the largest single tree planting in decades. The planting was supervised by FoCP board member Chris Leswing, who is a landscape architect in his private life. Way to go, guys!

The Dept. of Recreation has no budget for replanting trees in the park, where numerous trees die every year. Direct community action is the only force that keeps Clark Park green.

Go check out the new trees. They are in the Middle Park.
