One response to my post yesterday was a note from Roger Harmon.
He has jumped on board to help the Organ Restoration Fund grow.

His Abbraccio/Gold Standard at 820 South 47th Street
        www.abbracciorestaurant.com
will feature a post concert, gala 3-Course Dinner with 20% of the food
gross going to the DeSales Organ Fund.

Last Spring, friends and I went to Abbraccio, after the 2004 Bel Canto,
as did many of the concert goers.
There was a nice buzz from the shared experience of attending the
concert.
As we ate, some of the "stars" of the event drifted in. Even though
there was no planning, there was spontaneous applause as many of the
stars arrived. Some like Frank Lamont, who received a spontaneous
standing ovation were still in their tuxedos. Others, liked Cecelia
Chaisson (the DIVA) popped home to change. Her arrival brought almost
all the diners to our feet. It was a rush to recognize neighbors as
"talent", even "Stars". At our table was a violist, a star in her own
right, who seemed star-struck by our local singers. Hopefully, it will
be even more fun, to dine at Abbraccio after the Christmas event.

Here is the concert themed menu:

"Organ Pipes"
Pasta with Ditali, Penne and Rigatoni in Vodka Cream Sauce

"Salieri's Keyboard Variations"
        Saltimbocca alla Romana
(Veal Slices with Proscuitto & Sage)

"Bach Fugue"
A medley of flavors is present in our famous Tira Misu

Fixed Price: $30.00 per person

Roger informs me that regular menu items will also available, including
vegetarian entrees and the full range of desserts.

So, join in for sublime music starting at 3 PM and divine dining (or even
just cocktails at the bar) immediately thereafter at about 5 PM. And
consider that a night out can be both a great holiday gift, and help
restore a local treasure, the SFDS Haskell organ.

Happy Holidays!

Liz
