This is a reminder that Councilwoman Blackwell's annual Christmas party for
families in shelters will be this Monday, December 20, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the
First District Plaza, 3801 Market Street.
Volunteers are needed to help with the meal service, dishing out the food
and cleaning up after all those eyes-bigger-than-bellies have done their
darndest with their platters. Santa also needs some assistance -- keeping the
kiddies entertained while they're waiting, joining the elf squad in distributing
gifts according to age and gender, picking up wrappers and ribbons from the
floor, etc.
Show up and pitch in. You don't have to get there at 4:00 or stay until
8:00.
