Increasingly, I am being engaged, or hearing about, angry conversations about the Clark Park closure. The majority of people in West Philly had only heard about the wittle "improvements and maintenance" published by the FOCP/UCD. My heart goes out to them!

People need to stop asking, "how could they do this to a public park?" Clark Park has been privatized! It's not a true public space anymore, but functions like the sidewalks in a private shopping mall. The Department of Recreation has illegally abdicated its duties to the people of Philadelphia, while merely keeping the deed of Clark Park.

Don't think you are experiencing the worst part of this transfer, with the fence and the murdered trees in park A. The remainder of Clark Park, as well as the entire Philadelphia park system, is also targeted. Additionally, no one seems to recognize that the individual daily rights of park users are about to evaporate in the redesigned park under privatization.

Fact: The government was once theoretically bound to recognize citizens' rights. Private, unaccountable, deceptive entities such as the Clark Park Partnership and UCD are not!

Nothing but a lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia and the Clark Park partnership has a chance of stopping this transformation that has only just begun. Nothing!

The illegal transfer of authority for the park depended upon reclassifying that contemptuous gang, the leaders of the FOCP/SHCA, as "THE COMMUNITY." These gangs could never prove that they are mini-governments and a lawsuit against these defendants could be won!

To my friends: I disconnected from this neighborhood several years ago, and will never again call the barking cheese district home! I work here part time, until I can leave for good.

If people organize, I would be happy to assist you. I will not and can not lead the effort now that people of the surrounding area finally see the fence and murdered trees before their eyes.

The majority of district neighbors still don't recognize the principles which were ignored nor the fraudulent tactics that were used to fool the majority of West Philadelphia. I can only help once people organize themselves and engage a lawyer! I am once again working for the poor and oppressed people here and around the world; and intend to leave the upscale middle class to take some remedial civics and history lessons, so they can deal with the mess caused by their greed, positive thinking, and worship of power. I fear that it is your children and grand kids that will need to rise up and sacrifice themselves, like the brave people of North Africa and the middle east today.

Remember, a lawsuit is the only hope to make Clark Park a public park, as well as the only hope for the Philadelphia park system.

May the Gods and Goddesses have mercy on the people of Philadelphia,
Glenn
