Curio Theatre presents *Eurydice *by Sarah Ruhl. A tragic retelling of the myth of Orpheus, this play focuses on the trials and tribulations of his young wife Eurydice. Shortly after her wedding, she falls down a flight of stairs only to wake up dead. Reunited with her father, harassed by the dead, and sought after by the lascivious lord of the underworld, Eurydice realizes being dead isn’t so easy. Directed by Liz Carlson, this poetic and sweet tale of love and death is sure to delight all audiences. This play stars real life father daughter duo Tessa and Paul Kuhn as Eurydice and her father. CJ Keller plays the wacky and sinister lord of the underworld, while Steve Carpenter plays opposite Eurydice as the young Orpheus. The chorus of stones, played by Aetna Gallagher, Eric Scotolati, and Harry Slack, utilize basic Suzuki techniques to create the bizarre and unsettling denizens of the underworld. Sarah Ruhl’s requirements for the set are quite difficult and vague, a task set designer Paul Kuhn was more than eager to tackle. Whether dealing with running water onstage, or separating hell from earth, Mr. Kuhn expertly built a magical and whimsical set full of surprises. Come enjoy the sweet tragedy: *Eurydice *by Sarah Ruhl. It runs from now till November 12, every Thursday Friday and Saturday at 8o’clock.* Talk backs will be held after Thursday night performances. * For more information about this show, or Curio Theatre Company, please visit www.curiotheatre.org, or call 215-525-1350. *CHECK OUT OUR REVIEWS!!
