Many people suggest using Compact Fluorescent Lamps to save energy.
Before you purchase and install any of these lamps you should read the

I think I saw that IKEA recycles all kinds of light bulbs as well as
batteries - they have drop off containers right in the store by the
merchandise pickup area.

I was doing some research on LED light bulbs and their cost efficiency.
Although LED light technology has somewhat progressed to getting white
(mostly), the cost would dramatically change the world (even if everyone
just bought 1).
