Young man shot in face, wounded in W. Phila. An 18-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded on a West Philadelphia street last night, according to police.The man, whose name was not released, was taken by private vehicle to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania following the shooting, which was reported at 8:49 p.m. on the 4500 block of Sansom Street. Initial reports indicated that the man had been shot at least once in the face by one or two men who fled on foot.
