The article about the "Real World" in the Inq. this morning made we want to pack my bags and leave Filthasmellphia for good - and I was born here. It is the nightmare that was the Convention Center all over again. Imagine, some fool wants to come to this town - produce a show, maybe spend some money and provide mucho exposure to the young MTV audience. The city then allows the "welcoming committee" to put some bullhorn blasting thugs on the street toting a giant inflatable rat - this helps, how? It is almost as if the powers that be in Phila. are actively trying to motivate anyone with a nickel or a future nickel (the debacle that was the closing of Love Park to skaters) to pay in taxes to leave. If it wasn't so sad and misguided it would be funny.
