Subject: artblog talk on 10/20 - Meyerson Hall

Dear friends,

I hope you'll be able to join us tomorrow for
a conversation about Philadelphia's innovative
artblog, tomorrow afternoon in Meyerson Hall.

-----------------------------------
-- art reviews
           --- deep thoughts
---- and gossip from Philadelphia and beyond

JOIN
Roberta Fallon and Libby Rosof

for a talk about

**artblog**

Cosponsored by The Critical Writing Program
and the Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing
at the University of Pennsylvania

Wednesday, October 20
1-2:30 PM
Meyerson Hall, B-13
University of Pennsylvania

artblog grew out of Fallon and Rosof's 15-year collaboration and
ongoing discussions as artists about what makes art good. With only
the dollars in their pockets and the desire to give Philadelphia the art
magazine it deserved, the two began artblog in April 2003. Since then,
Fallon, Rosof, and a team of contributing writers have produced more
than 600 reviews, essays, and articles covering work by 8oo artists.
artblog now averages 4,000 readers a month.

Roberta Fallon is the co-founder of artblog and an art critic for
Philadelphia Weekly. Roberta focuses on art exhibits in the region,
from experimental to traditional; she is the Philadelphia correspondent
for the online magazine artnet, writes a regular arts feature for the
Philadelphia Inquirer Sunday Magazine, and frequently contributes to
the magazines Art on Paper and Azure.

Libby Rosoff, co-founder of artblog, is a sculptor, painter, and most
recently,
creator of artists' books in collaboration with Fallon. The
Pennsylvania Council
on the Arts awarded Rosof and Fallon an SOS grant in 2003 for their book
OK Artists and put them on the SOS grant eligibility list for arts
commentary.
Rosof also founded the Penn Current, an innovative, award-winning campus
newspaper at Penn that is a model for faculty/staff newspapers at
universities
nationwide.
