I cannot disagree with you. Wouldn't we all?

However, it does a community no good to ignore concerns from some of its
citizens, rather than make those citizens feel validated by hearing them.

It has been the modus operandi of this community to go from neighborhood
crisis to crisis and flare-up to flare-up, rather than acknowledge and/or
address concerns that may be unpopular or uncomfortable.

Those objections or concerns fester and fester until there is an outburst or
flare-up.

Each flare-up or crisis hurts the community a little more each time and
causes hard feelings on both sides, I believe.  An ounce of prevention is
worth a pound of cure.
