GOAL: To show how in the city of Philadelphia the positive difference one person can make.
Across Philadelphia civic minded citizens will join thousands of ?Men Making A Difference? to celebrate the kick-off of the group?s Day of Community Service Program. Also, ?Men Making A Difference? is supporting the House of Umoja?s Faith of Our Fathers Peace Campaign and celebrating the over 400 Philadelphia youth who have signed the Imani Peace Pledge thus far.
?Men Making A Difference? is a group of over 1,000 men who have received the ?Men Making A Difference? Award from Congressman Chaka Fattah since 1993. The group will begin its Day of Community Service Program with the House of Umoja with a combo ?Radio-thon? fundraiser and day of action cleaning up and fixing up ?the
block?.
Representatives from Philadelphia?s men organizations, youth groups, community service, faith life community and anti-violence programs are encouraged to attend.
