the same bug here. The solution: load module snd-seq or snd-seq-midi before running noteedit: sudo modprobe snd-seq-midi (Dapper is not loading this module by default!) This will create /dev/snd/seq and noteedit will start without crashing. Other problem is related in bug #38743 -- Crash on
