I also installed Jaunty beta on a single Intel processor machine with 700 Mbyte
memory and the installation worked like a champ but...
since I'need the real time beaviour for studio work I had to modify the
menu.lst so that I was able to boot from --linux-rt 2.6.27-3--.
So far so good.

OK, I had some time to debug this.
The problem is caused by a thread-unsafe patch introduced by the
upstream maintainer (in
debian/patches/13_avahi_fix_and_handle_restart.dpatch). This patch was
intended to restore Firefly's broken Avahi handler so that daemon
reconnections could be handled
I should mention I'm using the Intel driver, Intrepid, and Emerald
0.7.2-0ubuntu2.

vblade doesn't create /var/run/vblade
Sorry Alessio... it took me a few hours to get it back to working order
(my first experience with rolling back kernel updates), so I haven't
found such a window of opportunity since then... I'll try it ASAP.

This might help. It seems that you might not have nautilus.
So try and run:
sudo apt-get install nautilus

Optional Information Needed to Connect to Samba Share
i have the same Problems.
for example if i edit a file with vim the scrolling throught the file is
very slow, it updates the screen only every lets say 0.3 secons
what other logfiles do you need.
