I'm on jaunty - I have to upgrade every couple of days :). Sources.list
currently looks like:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jaunty main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jaunty-security main restricted universe
multiverse
deb
I did open the synaptic package and checked for the installed files. I
fully wiped the files which have todo with acroread and reinstalled the
new acroread related file. Then everything is fine for me.

Fixed it. :)
Running EXT 4 setup and done a fresh install. After install of Grub 2,
it offered suggested package desktop-base and some other suggested
packages after that. I installed these and problem seems to be gone. I
did not do this the last time. Must be related, i guess.

In fact dpkg -P removes installed files and configuration files and for this
reason I suggest to use by console:
sudo dpkg -P acroread-debian-files acroread acroread-escript
acroread-dictionary-de acroread-l10n-de
before doing:
sudo apt-get install acroread

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: googleearth-package
Hello,
make-googleearth-package bails out when not having ia32-libs installed.
Recommending adding them to the depends section of googleearth-package. My
system is a current jaunty.
After installing them manually I get:
Package:
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: acroread
unlike acroread 8.x packaged by medibuntu, the acroread 9.x package in
the partners repository does not provide the localisation files and is
English only.
ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: acroread
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ffmpeg
$ apt-cache show ffmpeg
Package: ffmpeg
Priority: optional
Architecture: amd64
Version: 3:0.svn20090303-1ubuntu6
Executing this:
$ ffmpeg -i file.avi -acodec copy -vcodec copy -title MyTitle out.avi
Will result in:
ffmpeg: unrecognized
