After reading through all the comments I tried to authenticate to
Exchange using the IP instead of the FQDN. And it worked! Seems like a
problem with address resolution or storing of a hostname instead of an
IP adress.

I can confirm that the commands plugin fixes this. kind of
disappointing that it wouldn't be installed by default if the update
somehow removes the capacity for metacity keybindings.
Strange though that it was able to import or recognize the shortcut keys
that I already put it into the gconf-edit

I am new to Ubuntu (old hand at squeak on a Mac).

The following patch fixes the problem. Alternative patches could match
exactly the PanelDItemEditor class as well as have this override rule
inside panel.rc, moving its include down into gtkrc file, but should

mdetect. For one reason or another it is not a dependency and not part

SOLVED
The problem: Using compiz as the window manager causes gnome session to timeout
after 10 seconds slowing boot time.
Solution: This is a quick hack to /usr/lib/gnome.wm.
Add the following line to gnome.wm
SMID=$DESKTOP_AUTOSTART_ID
above the following code which appears near the bottom

I'm using a 4 Gb SDHC-card (Adata) with Ubuntu Jaunty on an Acer Aspire
One 110. It only works after using this "addon" :
Remark 1: Support for SDHC cards can be enabled with BIOS 3305 and 3309 for
kernel 2.6.27 and 2.6.28 via a module parameter.

I've tried to install gnome with a few hardy-proposed (h-p) packages (lesser is
better for me) :
- gnome-desktop-environment (h-p) does not require any gnome-keyring-manager
package - great!
- gnome-desktop-environment (h-p) requires gnome-core (h-p)
- gnome-core (h-p) requires gnome (h-p)
