I can confirm the same problem with Jaunty Jackalope for both Evince and
Firefox. Additionally firefox in fullscreen also faces the flickering
problem when you Ctrl+Tab between different browser tabs (in addition to
the Alt+Tab flickering problem).

I have the same problem. I fixed this in the python code by
encapsulating the source file in double quotes. This way it passes both
the file check as will as the "dd" command. I no longer have any
trouble writing images that have a space in the path.
Please let me know if I generated this patch
A note. It was always trying to install de dictionary and i18n. I just
added the en ones and deselected the de ones and it was happy enough.

ALSA _does_ work for Avidemux 2.4.3 on Ubuntu 8.10.
But the problem is that Avidemux/Edit/Preferences/Audio/ALSA device is set to
"dmix" by default.
Setting it to "default" solves the "trouble initializing" etc... problems.

In Jaunty, if Firefox 3.0 is uninstalled and replaced with 3.5, this plugin
will be removed too - the dependencies require one of firefox/epiphany/galeon
etc. but not firefox-3.5.
This can be easily fixed by adding firefox-3.5 as one of the options in the

It comes from gio-port.diff
function parse_sftp_uri doesn't do its job, but it is very easy to fix
it, just replace
u+=2; with u+=3;
since sftp patches are normal urls, they are in form of
sftp://username2...
and u points to ://username, thus you need to skip 3 chars and not

Ok, the issue is obvious, there's a "/" in filename, I think that it's
coming from the channel name. Are you telling me that all your channels
are labeled this way.
