From what I read on Phoronix Canonical really did screw up the Intel
driver experience for Jaunty, resulting in poor performance and numerous
problems.
Since everyone having Intel is running Jaunty with an Intel card (cards
which are known to work under other distributions) I'll bet this is the

I had made a fresh install of kubuntu without formatting my / drive.
Then I got these errors when I ran ntfs-config. Followed the above
procedure (i.e. deleting the particular folders) and then running ntfs-
config. I am running Jaunty.

I can second this bug. Running a new install of Ubuntu 9.04, AMD 64bit,
Gnome desktop. Installed nedit from the standard repo and couldn't get
copy/paste to work. Error was: Attempt to copy to unlocked clipboard.
Downloading the binaries from nedit.org didn't work for me (due to
64bit?).

I have this problem as well--my laptop is technically capable of running
compiz at DefaultDepth 24, but it's very sluggish. 16bit worked
wonderfully up until Intrepid.
This seems to be a bug with the Intel graphics driver; When in 16bit

When I did an upgrade last week to Jaunty, the problem was still there.
However, I reverted back to Intrepid, so I can't test the solution in
Jaunty. I'll report back when I finally move to Jaunty.

I agree that a test suite for a programming language, which is supposed
to succeed, should really succeed. If we can't fix it for maintenance

When you set up a credit card account, entering a positive opening

The previous report was on AMD64 with pypy installed.
Just installed on Jaunty, i386, without pypy, and isympy runs without
problems.

This is a screenshot of rasmol-classic running on my machine (jaunty),
which has an nvidia 8500gt graphics card. The window is in fact semi-
transparent. The white and orange tinting that the molecule has on the

I was also experiencing this problem.
I am using the same version as above.
I followed the workaround suggested here and it works.
But please do fix it.

This is a screenshot of rasmol-gtk running on the same machine as above.
It can be seen that the molecule is split, and when rotating, the two
halves rotate separately. It appears to be some kind of
viewport/wrapping problem. The molecule also appears dotted.

Looking at the log, it apparently chokes on reading the workgroup value from
a previous /etc/samba/lwiauthd.conf
Do you have an existing /etc/samba/lwiauthd.conf file, like a leftover of
previous likewise-open (4.x) installation ?
If yes, could you try sudo apt-get purge likewise-open to get

You can fix this error by enabling the multiverse repository and
installing the gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse package. In newer
versions of Jokosher, we have fixed this bug and it will not attempt to
use the mp3 encoder if it is not installed.
