I installed KDE4 to test it out, put KDM instead of GDM and Gnome begins

@Cirion: The simplest way is as follows (though it will rebuild and
reinstall all of mt-daapd and not just the plugin):
1. open a terminal window
1.5 uninstall the current version of mt-daapd
sudo apt-get remove mt-daapd
This should leave your songs database and /etc/mt-daapd.conf intact.

Synergy2 is old and buggy, in particular facing problems around the
clipboard and typically crashing frequently.
It has not been updated since 2006. However, a small number of forks exist of
which the most active appears to be synergy-plus:
I am having similar issues with vice. It cannot find kernal files, I
have placed the files into the /home/x/.vice directory but no joy
unfortunately.
When x64 is invoked I receive the following :-
