Hi Chris,
I have install ntfs-3g from your PPA to test.
It doesn't seem to have made a huge difference, but looks like it's not
using as much CPU as before.
There now seem to be other processes that are causing the issues with
the mouse freezing up, such as events, ksoftirqd maybe??

Attempting to launch a file URL with a query string attached fails using
xdg-open (calls gnome-open on my system). I can successfully launch
with an anchor tag but not query string. If you try to launch directly
with firefox it is successful.

after installing latest x-swat intel driver for Karmic, screen is sometimes
corrupted
The problem is solved. Atleast for me. The problem was the burner was
making a copy of the file. Searching through the Ubuntu Forum site I
came across a poste that suggested a program called DeVeDe. I opened
the Synaptic Package Manager and entered the search for DeVeDe and there
it was. I
