case. Disabling Compiz got Karmic up and running again.
To be able to activate Compiz again I first had to supress autostart of
Awn.

Hi Micah,
yes, the audio is perfectly ok with any other application, music and movie
player for example.
The problem is only related to Flash.
Another detail which just jumped in my mind is that initially I had some
problem with Pulse just because, as I mentioned in the error
description, I
I just installed console-tools to see whether this problem exists in
this package, too. And it does. The setting BLANK_TIME is completely
ignored and is set internally to 10 minutes. This seems to be set in the
kernel (see linux/drivers/char/console.c). The setterm workaround
works, however.

1. jaunty's current version of k3dsurf, namely 0.6.2-3, segfaults immediately
2. k3dsurf-0.6.2.4, downloaded from sourceforge, runs smoothly.

I have a really fresh install now and one and a half months of updates

I suggest trying easystroke for configuring mouse buttons. It works
differently than btnx, but it seems to get the job done.
I still have a working btnx in Jaunty but I think I installed it from
source and had to hack at it a bit. I don't really recommend using it
anymore although I do.

The only setting I've changed in the default sounds is to disable the
Alert Sound. I believe this is the default sound that firefox-3.5
tries to use when displaying an info or alert box.
However, instead of playing nothing (because the Alert

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 alpha2, x86_64 also experiencing this problem. My version
of VMware is 2.5.2 x86_64.
At the beginning it was because i didnt run the VMware player under root, but a
reinstall still has this problem when running vmplayer from terminal despite
the gui installation saying

Are you using jaunty?

whenever I try to (refactoring) rename something in my class, monodevelop

Short version: works on 9.04
OK, what I did:
I installed 9.04 desktop on the machine, did _NOT_ update it (too lazy).
Then I installed module-assistant. In m-a I updated, installed the
required packages and chose sl-modem. The download and build worked, as
did the installation of the resulting
Here is an debdiff for it. The other changes are grabbed from the Debian
git repository.
