/usr/local/share, not in /usr/share. And /dev/.udev/db was not writable

This fails when diff is actually colordiff itself. There are a few ways to fix:

1. enable a configuration option in colordiffrc
2. search for a diff in $PATH, if it is not colordiff itself, then call it
3. hard-code /usr/bin/diff in the script
(worst)
