No news on this bug??
I am having exactly the same problem on Xubuntu 9.04, although recently
I set up Firebird on another machine with Ubuntu 9.04 and everything
worked.

package firebird2.1-super 2.1.1.17910-release.ds1-1ubuntu1 failed to
install/upgrade: subprocess
I've made the packaging following the REVU orientations. Its for Jaunty, I can
make the karmic one if needed.
Its in my ppa: https://launchpad.net/~igorgomes/+archive/ppa
How to propose it to http://revu.ubuntuwire.com? I didn't find the
instructions.
Build log:
Problem is I've got about 4 or 5 bots all running on the same pc.
Normally this would be no problem but to virtualize all bots would mean
I need to install 4 or 5 virtual pc's running all linux... To keep this
all running would be one hell of a task. Isn't there another way I could
fix this?

lxde-common need an approval from an archive admin, it should enter the archive
this week-end or early next week.
Also, lxde-common already depends on lxde-common, already in the seed. So no
need to add it to the seed.
