For someone on IRC who had this problem recently a BIOS reset fixed it for him.
Maybe also try to update it.
And you can try to use linux16/initrd16 commands in the menu entry instead of
the usual linux and initrd.
Calculation of the memory needed for the initrd is a bit different between them.

It now seems that this may not be an xchat problem. I happened to notice
yesterday that when I started my laptop up there was a little flicker,
almost as if gnome-panel had been killed and then restarted instantly.

I will adopt the package as Debian maintainer. So, despite the

I came back to let you know that I have also installed the lxde desktop and I
was able to start an lxde session easily. Since I have posted the first time, I
uninstalled openbox, changed my mirror back the main US repo, then reinstalled
openbox and I applied all of the current Karmic

While the missing directory error is always there, it surely doesn't
affect every testcase. I just tried HTTP sampling (www.google.com) and
it works without problem.
I suppose the problem is seen only when running junit sampling. Can you
please confirm and if possible add a sample .jmx file?

This is certainly not Macbook specific. gnome-lire-properties is putting
'' value for empty fields in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf (instead of
simply ). This causes lirc not to start at all.

Thanks Felix. Turned out to be an option in the BIOS which was limiting
available memory. Disabled that option and it works fine now. Cheers.

BTW, debian has 1.8.2~svn5414-1 in unstable and 1.8.1+svn5138-1 in
testing, so the merge for the next version probably takes the latest
version automatically. See http://packages.qa.debian.org/j/jajuk.html
