I'm glad to report I was wrong: in the link above a solution is found.
Some people reported it didn't work for them, but calling:

got me a fully jack-compatible recordmydesktop.

Jaunty. Because of the new DVB-API (DVB-S2 with vdr) I loved to update
to Karmic (AFAIK calendarserver in Jaunty is broken as well...). But as

I've solved the problem!
You just have to delete (or rename) the file:
/home/USERNAME/.config/Trolltech.conf
This is a temporary config file of qt libraries (they are stellarium), if it's
deleted it will be regenerated.
It seems that you can safely delete it, but it's always a good idea to do a

1) The error indicates, that the plugin has not been built. The
configure output and the build-log should tell why.
2) Yes, you have to merge parts of the Ubuntu changes into the Debian
package (I'm the maintainer for Debian). But I tried to make this as

I can confirm that downgrading helps.
I installed the following packages from the very first karmic versions
of mesa, skipping the binaries from the mesa packages that were not
already installed on my system:
libgl1-mesa-dri_7.4-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
libgl1-mesa-glx_7.4-0ubuntu3_i386.deb

In /etc/hosts, could you please change the line
127.0.1.1 Ubi.home
with
127.0.1.1 Ubi.home Ubi
Check if this fix that problem by running:
# hostname -d
It should return home instead of 'unknown host'.
Then try performing the upgrade again. This will likely resolve your
issue. If so

the described behaviour is not a bug but rather a feature.
isLuks is meant as a test for luks device. in case you want
it to output something, you can do something like
# cryptsetup isLuks ... echo is a LUKS device
alternatively you can use luksUUID or luksDump, which do
