Hmm, it is in unstable only. Will it be in Lucid automatically? AFAIK
lucid grabs the packages only from testing.
(I checked the Ubuntu release policy and I see that it is only possible
to get OpenCV 2.0 to Lucid, so forget about Karmic/Jaunty in this bug
report.)

Just another point in the discussion: I used to have KDE in the near
past (Kubuntu 9.04) and I didn't have any problems with data editor in
R... even with desktop effects enabled. Does this mean it is Compiz-

Closing since everyone so far is using upstream package and we do not support
upstream packages.
As i recall you need libstdc++5 when running upstream ours using libstdc++6

Thanks again for your patch. It looks great with one exception: the
patch file names should be appended to debian/patches/series, not
prepended. If you haven't already, I suggest becoming familiar with
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Complete which will help you use
quilt to manage

please nominate for release and mark In Progress for each debdiff

This is a symptom of a bug in sun's java6 regarding ipv6.
Try
$ /sbin/sysctl net.ipv6.bindv6only
If this value is 1 you need to disable the setting:
$ sudo /sbin/sysctl net.ipv6.bindv6only=0
For a persistent fix:
Check /etc/sysctl.conf and /etc/sysctl.d/* for this setting and restart procfs
(lucid has exo 105 already)

I've found a solution: edit file /etc/pulse/default.pa
reach line load-module module-udev-detect
and add this to the end ignore_dB=1
I don't know if this change has side effects, but it works

Thank you for your bug report and for helping making eclipse in Ubuntu
better. The short story is only -vm is supposed to work and the
manpage is out of date.
The use of JAVA_HOME and .eclipse/eclipserc were Debian/Ubuntu
workarounds since /usr/bin/java (at that time usually gcj) tended to
