crashing problems.

So: Setting /etc/pam.d/vmware-authd to reference vmware's 32 bit
libraries (per farther above) + dg's fix and I now have a working (and
actually authenticating!) vmware 1.09 on 64 bit 9.04 Ubuntu with the

I am using Ubuntu 8.10. I installed the package python-matplotlib
(0.98.3-4ubuntu1 (intrepid)). In my __init__.py I have:
import pylab
I am using Python 2.5.2. When I run the program I got the error:
Traceback (most recent call last)
cannot access `JMF-2.1.1e/bin/jmfregistry': No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access `JMF-2.1.1e/bin/jmfinit': No such file or directory
./jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin: 305: cannot create /home/bill/.jmfdir: Permission
denied
./jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin: 306: JMF-2.1.1e/bin/jmfinit: no
The workaround in Kubuntu 7.04 (adding "dbe") works but this also hides
your desktop icons. A better solution is needed.
using the workaround above and also adding these to the conky configuration
file seems to at least solved the flickering for me.

I see this problem in Kubuntu 7.04.
Not sure if this workaround is Gnome specific?

I'll try it in jis a few mins and see. What I finally came up
with, was after a reboot, again... some of the modes now work, but still
no audio on MOV's I'll let ya know in a while about 'this'

How would one go about installing this patch? I have tried several
different ways and it keeps saying it can't find the files... I copied
the patch to: /usr/share/python-support/democracyplayer/democracy
and issued the command: sudo patch -b
