Works on Jaunty amd64 (tested cat operation).
The Debian fix should be in Ubuntu by now, so this is fixed, closing the
bug now. Reopen if you still get this in Karmic or Lucid!

lyx 1.6.4 freaks out, consumes all memory, is killed by OOM killer
https://bugs.launchpad.
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: lyx
This has happened several times yesterday and today while writing a small paper:
Lyx becomes unresponsive, consumes 100% CPU, allocates more and more memory, is
finally killed by the OOM killer.
kern.log shows:
Dec 8 17:16:05 laj kernel: [76096.701
Workaround: Install pdftk from Ubuntu Jaunty. This depends on libgcj9
instead of the buggy (?) libgcj10.
The Jaunty packages:

Time is not set
https://bugs.launchpad.net/
Looking at the debian bug, it seems the problem is:
1) openntpd uses adjtime(). This means the clock will not be set to the new
time, but it sped up or slewed until the correct time is reached. That can take
a long log time (7 days for 300 seconds).
So this:

The "Got junk from df" stuff is the trigger for the problem (you see those
messages on installing munin-node).
Unmount the offending filesystems, purge+reinstall works as a workaround.
