Problem got marginally better when using kernel 2.6.30-020630-generic.
However, outputting to VGA output is still unbearable with compiz on.
Xrandr works perfectly when compiz is off.
Any hope for Karmic?

Trying to get a cloned display on a VGA monitor results in a similar

Laptop: 1280x800 native LVDS
Monitor: 1280x1024 native VGA
When running the command "xrandr --output VGA --auto", 1280x1024 is

After upgrading to Ubuntu Jaunty, vnc4server no longer updates the
screen properly for connected clients. Oddly enough, watching VLC videos
in full screen updates properly, but other than that, the screen is

Perhaps you can play around with optional switches when restarting
timidity... for example, the manpage for timidity says that the switch
"F" can introduce a delay. This may or may not solve the problem.

You need to modify the file /etc/apache2/sites-available/default to
reflect the change in the default served directory. The appropriate
option is "DocumentRoot"

Running Virtualbox-2.1 (actually, 2.1.4), Jaunty Alpha 6.
I mounted the guest additions ISO through the VirtualBox Devices Menu
(instead of clicking Machine -> Install Guest Additions). As a result,
