I just went though my old bugs and found this one. In the karmic package
the bug is still present, and there is also no longer a loop module
(seems to be compiled in the kernel now). I didn't use Xen for over two
years, so for my part you can set this to Won't Fix if you wish.

disabled compiz, no improvement.

Update: The volume does not only reset when audacious is started, but
also when I skip manually to the next song. Then I have to move the
volume control a little bit back and forth to restore my desired volume
setting.

audacious does not restore volume level
With the newest packages and KMS, the flickering with flash videos is
gone. The other problem with VDR seems to be related to VDR or libxine,
as I can reproduce it on a radeon-based system, too (or even with
X11/XShm output).
From my perspective, this bug can be marked as Fix Released.

I see the same behaviour on my Thinkpad X200, too. After resume from
suspend (to disk or to RAM), the screen stays black (the backlight is
on).

Since the upgrade to 2:2.7.99.1+git20090602.ec2fde7c-0ubuntu1 yesterday,
my X display only updates every few seconds when compiz is enabled.
After switching to metacity everything is fine; glxgears and video
playback seem to work
I found a workaround: After disabling Sync to vblank in compizconfig-
settings-manager, My desktop is usable again.

I just disabled all those audio-enhancing gizmos that are enabled by default,
and now the CPU load is down to 4%:

I did not have the conflicting keyserver in my list, yet seahorse does not
syncronize my keys.
The progress bar stands still at ca. 3/4 of the way, and a gpg process
constantly eats 100% CPU.
After hitting abort after ca. 1 hour, the gpg process does continue to eat
CPU, and has to be killed.
I just saw that by now, exiftool 6.57 is in feisty, so I'd say we can
close this bug.
