Lyx stores *.png icons for toolbars and dialogs in
/usr/share/lyx/images. These icons can be overridden by placing new
icons in ~/.lyx/images (or directly replacing the ones in

that users icon next to the status icon, and the option should be
changed to simply show nothing. Currently, it looks like two distinct
