I'm running Jaunty, and my selfmade dvd does not have audio *only* if opened as
a dvd. If I instead open the .VOB file, audio works.

I can just tell you using words. This is what happens:
the file transfer starts SILENTLY, and when it's finished, the
notification appears with those actions: open file, reveal file,

I've tested the new package. The speed and the tap lag are resolved now!
Also for me the scrolling area is too big with this package... I've
played around with values and I see that 895 is ok.
Please test it darylb:
synclient RightEdge=895
(after having followed the SHMConfig howto in the site)
910 is also ok for me, I don't mind the fact that I need to touch the
border to scroll

Well, maybe 910 is too high.. I'd go with 900.
I say this because it happens that when I scroll, my finger does not
move perfectly vertically, but can move a bit to the left, so in my
opinion just a bit more of scrolling area is better

I solved the problem starting gdm with the option -dpi 96.
It seems that gmd chooses another dpi, meybe because I have a bigger
